SURROUNDING AREAS

The Central and Clemson areas offer a wealth of attractions and scenic adventures for our guests. You’re conveniently located right outside the city limits with easy access to campus and everything you could need in town while also having more than 20 acres of mature forest to enjoy at your leisure. Plus, there’s so much more! Here’s what you’ll find in the area. We are an hour and 45 minutes from Asheville and about two hours from Charlotte and Atlanta.

Memorial Stadium at Clemson University – Go Tigers! Memorial Stadium is a definite bucket list stadium for many college football fans, and for good reason. Get that authentic college football experience in a unique stadium that’s often referred to as “Death Valley.” Great fun for the whole family!

South Carolina Botanical Gardens – This absolutely beautiful 295-acre property is a great place for a day trip. Enjoy gorgeous landscapes, a butterfly garden, a wildflower meadow, many specialty gardens, and miles of trails and streams for hiking.

High Falls Country Park – A nice big park with access to Lake Keowee that makes the perfect place to launch your boat, get some fishing in, or swim when the weather permits.

Fort Hill Plantation – The plantation is located on the Clemson University Campus and has been in existence since 1784. An excellent historical opportunity and a look back into our nation’s beginning.

Brooks Center for the Performing Arts – Also located on the Clemson Campus, this center is a fantastic place to take in some art and culture, from theater to music to educational displays and more. Tickets are always available on the Center’s website!

Devils Fork State Park – Did you visit this area for the great trout fishing? This is the place to go! Campgrounds are available for overnight trips. Otherwise enjoy some lovely boating and waterfalls you can only access via the water.

Hanover House – Located near the botanical gardens, this colonial style home is open for limited tours on the weekends. A great look at early colonial architecture, loved by history buffs! We recommend calling ahead for tour information.

Chattooga River and Nantahala – A bit of a drive but well worth it for excellent whitewater rafting. All-day and half-day excursions are available, along with lots of other river activities

Whitewater Falls – Just a 45-minute drive from either of our properties, this 1500-foot waterfall is truly a sight to behold. You’ll find a fantastic overlook on Wigington Road nearby.

Haunted History Tours in Charlotte – There are a ton of great tours available in Charlotte, but our personal favorite is he Beyond the Grave Haunted History tour for a spooky good time.

These are the main nearby attractions, but that’s hardly all there is to do in Central South Carolina if you’re willing to make the drive! Myrtle Beach and Charleston are very popular spots on the coast with tons to do and both make an excellent overnight trip.
